Park Güell
Inspired by the English garden city movement, Count Eusebi Güell, wanted to build an urbanisation on the Montaña Pelada (Bare Mountain). Assisted by Ribió, Berenguer and Jujol, the now famous architect Antoni Gaudi build the park between 1900 and 914. The original plan was to build more than 60 housed on the estate. However, only two housed were realised and as such the project was a failure. In 1922, the Barcelona City Council bought the property and converted the estate in a municipal garden known as: Park Güell.
Gaudian Spiral
Francisco de Paula del Villar was the first architect working on the Sagrada Familia in 1882. However, he was replaced by Antoni Gaudi in 1883. It turned out to be Antoni last project. On. June 7, 1926 Gaudi was run over by a tram...
The Sagrada Familia is still under construction.
Making this shot was a dream come true...I wanted to make such a stairshot for a long time. Then, when I visited Barcelona for my work I got the chance. Entering the Sagrada we found out one could only go up the towers by elevator. This was quite a disappointment. However, going down was by these stairs and finally I reached my dream...I didn't bring my tripod so I had to do hand-held HDR...
"The Oval" by Tadao Ando
"The Oval" is a small hilltop hotel with six rooms designed by Tadao Andao. We stayed in the room to the far left.
Naoshima is a small fishing island off the southern Japan coast on the Seto Inland Sea, between Honshu and Shikoku, within eyeshot of the city of Takamatsu.
During the 1990s, the Benesse Corporation, a Japanese textbook publisher, partnered with architect Tadao Ando to create Benesse Art Site Naoshima, a series of spectacular contemporary art museums designed around the theme of "Nature and Art." (There's a nice summary of the place here.)
Shrewdly, they also built the museums with hotel rooms in which visitors can stay.
No less shrewdly, we stayed. It was superb
Casa Batlló
Between 1904 and 1907, Antoni Gaudi worked for the industrialist Josep Batlló Casanovas reforming a house built in 1877 and located in Passeig de Gràcia. The Barcelona population of the period were quite astonished by his work and quickly gave it nicknames such as the House of Bones or the House of Yawns

(BTW to that 0.1% DIGG nihilists... this is not stolen you boneheads. It is a similar and obvious angle, yes. This was 5 exposure HDR...more area at the bottom...slightly different light angles, more dynamic lighting levels...etc... anyone that can look at two pictures with a careful eye can see they are different enough... plus I have the originals uncropped and huge)... besides, don't ya kinda like my pic a bit better... . :)
This was taken this evening at MGM Studios in Disney World before we went to go see the big fireworks show. I have a few images of that too, of course, but not processed yet. I still have a big backlog of other unique travel stuff to get through when I get some time!
